UMR Pegase scientists are heavily involved in 3 training courses in two separate courses of Institut Agro Rennes-Angers.

Training as an Agricultural Engineer, specialising in Animal Production Science and Engineering (Sipa)

Engineering training in France is based on a selective entry procedure. The programme lasts 3 years and leads to an engineering degree equivalent to a Master's degree in science and technology.
In this programme, the teacher-researchers of the UMR Pegase coordinate the specialisation Sciences and Engineering in Animal Production, with the support of all the staff of the UMR. This specialisation is open to all the staff of the UMR: researchers, engineers, technical staff of the laboratory and of the experimental facilities. The training allows students to acquire skills and knowledge in animal science and production, as well as methodological tools for analysis, reflection and action, which are necessary for today's and tomorrow's livestock farms. It ranges from knowledge of the animal to economically viable and socially acceptable production in their territories and sectors.

Agricultural engineering training, speciality coupled with the BMC master

The engineering training in France is based on a selective entry procedure. The programme lasts 3 years and leads to an engineering degree equivalent to a Master in Science and Technology.
In this curriculum, we run a 2-year training programme which is coupled for the last year with the BMC training programme jointly run by the Institut Agro and the University of Rennes; at the end of the last year, this training programme delivers the double diploma of Agronomic Engineer and BMC Master.
This "à la carte" course aims to provide students with fundamental, technical and professional knowledge in the disciplines or themes of molecular and cellular biology, organised into the following majors: Genetics-Genomics, Biology at interfaces, Dynamics of cellular communication, Immunity-Infection, Toxicology, Therapeutic innovation and drug development.
This training opens up professional prospects for jobs related to research or R&D or related jobs (e.g. technical sales), in research institutes, universities, start-ups, CROs (Contract Research Organisations) or industrial groups, in various fields covering biotechnologies, agronomy (in the broad sense) or human health.

Training Master in Science, Master Biology Agrosciences course Animal Sciences for the Breeding of Tomorrow (Saed)

The 2-year course is given in partnership with the University of Rennes 1 and Oniris. This multidisciplinary and integrative training in animal sciences ranges from the cell to the animal in the farm. The general objectives of the Saed course are to offer a unique training programme in France in the field of animal sciences and breeding by training managers who are specialists in animals and/or breeding, employable and adaptable, capable of dealing with complex problems in order to develop breeding and animal production sectors.
